In order to ensure your BlackBerry® Enterprise Server settings remain compatible with upcoming service updates, your corporate network firewall settings will need to be updated and your BlackBerry Enterprise Server software configuration settings will need to be verified by your BlackBerry Enterprise Server Administrator between October 13, 2010 and March 16, 2011.

ACTION REQUESTED: Changes to firewall and BlackBerry Enterprise Server settings required starting October 2010

If your BlackBerry Enterprise Servers are physically located in the United States, you must update your BlackBerry Enterprise Server SRP settings.

If you already connect to us.srp.blackberry.com, you will not need to edit your BlackBerry Enterprise Server settings; you will only need to ensure that the proper IP addresses are allowed through your corporate network firewall. Additionally, if you currently connect to srp.na.blackberry.net and your BlackBerry Enterprise Servers are physically located in the United States you must switch to the United States SRP address: us.srp.blackberry.com.

These actions must be taken between October 13, 2010 and March 16, 2011 to ensure you maintain BlackBerry Enterprise Server connectivity.
Please see the knowledge base articles for more details.

When reviewing your configuration settings, please ensure that: The IP addresses, as specified in the knowledge base articles, are allowed through your corporate network firewall. Your BlackBerry Enterprise Servers are configured to use the regional Server Routing Protocol (SRP) address us.srp.blackberry.com instead of a static IP address. Ports 25, 53, and 3101 are open on your firewall as specified in the knowledge base articles.
