Short Description: Specifies the number of days after which the server returns undelivered mail to the sender
Specifies the number of days after which the server returns undelivered mail to the sender. Increase this setting when you have a lot of mail returned in one day or when you are sending mail to foreign domains. Note: To specify a period of less than one day, use the NOTES.INI setting MailTimeoutMinutes.
SPR# TSAO6A6FS7 - Corrected a problem that could cause messages that exceed the delivery timeout (default of 1 day,
but settable via MailTimeout or MailTimeoutMinutes) to be deleted rather than marked dead. In particular, if a message non-delivery report could not be returned to the sender before the delivery time expired, the message could be deleted rather than marked Dead and kept in the mail.box. With this fix, these messages will now remain in the mail.box as Dead messages allowing the administrator to take corrective action if necessary.
None, although if this setting is omitted, undelivered mail is returned after one day.
MailTimeout=number of days
None, but you can specify this setting in the NOTES.INI Settings tab of the Configuration Settings document in the Domino Directory.
