Detailed information for the notes.ini Keyword:

Short Description: revert proxy authentication to pre-6.5.4 behavior

You upgrade to Lotus Notes® 6.5.4 and have proxy credentials stored in the Location document. When you try to render HTML content through the Notes client, you are prompted to authenticate with the proxy continuously. The credentials stored in the Location document are not considered and the HTML never renders.
This is a regression issue specific to Notes 6.5.4. The regression was introduced by the fix for SPR# JHOD5NKQ5M.
This issue is now fixed.
Fix details: SPR# KTOT6FDT3X

Refer to the Upgrade Central site for details on upgrading Notes/Domino.

As a workaround there is an INI parameter to revert proxy authentication to pre-6.5.4 behavior: NoSingleProxyAuth=1

After applying this parameter and renaming the perweb.nsf and cache.ndk, the multiple prompts should stop and the HTML should render.

A consideration with reverting to the pre-6.5.4 behavior is that all proxy attempts will occur simultaneously. The danger in turning this on is that users may get locked out of the proxy account after X attempts. For more details on the issues with reverting to the pre-6.5.4 behavior, refer to document "Notes continues to proxy bad authentication credentials for each <img src=/> in HTML message" (#1153566)

Default value:

NoSingleProxyAuth=0 / 1

UI equivalent:
There is no kown UI setting for this notes.ini variable. But you can specify this setting in the notes.ini settings tab of the configuration settings document.
